The New Mission station is taking shape, and the boost for local workers has been a real benefit. Equally we have been amazed at the generosity offered and help the community have afforded us, helping with sand and land clearance. This after the amazing kindness of contributing toward a new satellite dish after the theft of the entire system. It feels wonderful to have such overwhelming acceptance and support from the community we seek to serve. Government infastructure is coming thick and fast to the Delta. For us, that means a road layed on the opposite bank of the river from our clinic. As the roads come closer to the creek so crime is on the rise and we have taken on a night watchman to patrol the clinic and aim to add iron bars to all the windows, a sad, expensive, but necessary measure. His name is Andrew, but known as ‘Yankee Boy’ because of his ‘American grin’. There may be a prize for who can best define an American grin.
