SURGERY

New Foundations principal focus is on Primary Care but there are many surgical patients for whom, something ,just morally, has to be done. We are resourcing simple surgical equipment to undertake day case surgery in partnership with surgical partners, Global Medical Mission.
Eye Care Health Initiative and colleagues from the UK have also been important partners in the cataract camps that have been undertaken. Bausch and Lomb have kindly sponsored the eye camps and continue to support our eye program.
These camps run twice a year depending on the availability of partners schedules.
Bausch and Lomb has helped partners carry out over 500 eye operations where new sight has given new hope. Surgical patients have included gynaecological, obstetric, abdominal, breast and hernia.
Aid 2 Hospitals Worldwide is instrumental in securing equipment for this work.
Where surgery is too complex for the clinic setting then patients are triaged for surgery at secondary centres through both our partner organisations.
